Gucci is shining a spotlight on one of their legendary designs, the Horsebit 1953 Loafer, with the help of British actor Kingsley Ben-Adir.
Initially conceptualized and released in 1953, the Horsebit loafer has stood the test of time and become a key signifier of the Gucci brand. You can spot the double ring and bar, which pays tribute to Gucci’s equestrian origins, from a mile away, which makes this the perfect accessory to represent the house’s new direction.
For the spring season, Creative Director Sabato De Sarno unveils the new campaign as a part of an overall reimagining of the Gucci label with heritage as a core tenet. The images, shot by photographer Heji Shin and styled by Alastair Mckimm, feature Ben-Adir in minimalistic settings wearing Gucci clothes that reflect the classic and elegant nature of this campaign. Future generations of men continue to look like a million bucks when they slip on this iconic shoe once again.
