As the French Open is in full swing, and with Wimbledon and the US Open right around the corner, there’s no better time than now to get all your tennis wear needs. New-York brand Kith decided to partner with Wilson Tennis to reimagine the brand’s rich heritage through a modern lens.
With a color palette consisting mainly of white, blue, and red for both on-and-off-court inspired styles, sporting goods, and accessories—the mens-and-womens collection is meant to coincide with the peak of clay-tennis season. The campaign being shot in France and the early release on June 8 being exclusive to Kith Paris furthers the sentiment, as the finals for the French Open are set to take place only days later.
The men’s collection is split between lifestyle and performance wear. The lifestyle pieces include paneled nylon track jackets and windshirts, Manteco wool coaches jackets, oxford shirts, fleece hoodies, and jersey tops. The more performance-based pieces range from compression shorts to seamless polos, shirts, and tees. Technicality and streetwear meet in the middle with quick-drying cable knit yarn polos and cardigans.
On-court construction through a lifestyle lens leads the way for the womenswear collection. Engineered mesh and knit polos, seamless bra tops, quick-drying dresses, and breathable pleated tennis skirts are some of the functional and stylish styles.
The on-and-off-court vision doesn’t stop for the accessories, which include four tennis racquets—one for each of Wilson’s performance racquets; the Pro Staff, Ultra, Blade, and Clash—co-branded tennis balls, racquet covers, leather racquet bags, dampeners, backpacks, and headwear.
Both brands also worked together with Paris multi-activity—including tennis, of course—youth center Fête le Mur to fully restore two tennis courts in Stains, France. The restoration process included a custom paint job that kept consistent with the collection’s French red, blue, and white color palette.
The global release of Kith x Wilson Tennis is June 9 at all Kith stores, and on kith.com.
