Kith Collabs with Clarks Originals and Adidas to Create the Ultimate Modern Sneaker
All about the retailer’s latest footwear partnerships
Founded in 2011 by Ronnie Fieg, Kith has grown from a stylish lifestyle brand to the beloved mecca of street style. So it comes as no surprise that when Fieg partnered with Clarks Originals and Adidas to create the “8th Street Samba,” these three footwear powerhouses created magic.
Available March 24th on Kith.com & EU.Kith.com, the 8th Street Samba features an entirely new model that comes in three fresh colorways. The sneaker’s upper highlights the classic adidas Samba silhouette garnished in Clarks Originals’ signature suede. Topped off with those iconic three stripes, this element allows sneakerheads to enjoy a familiar design with a brand-new spin.
The reimagined Samba is complete with Clarks’ iconic crepe outsole- the first time this sole is paired with an adidas Samba upper. To seal this tri-branded deal, the shoe’s tongue is marked with the trio’s co-created logo: a subtle, yet powerful symbol of co-craftsmanship.
Ronnie Fieg and Clarks Originals first became collaborators over ten years ago, and they’ve been glued to each other’s fashionable hip ever since. At the time, Fieg was getting his start in the footwear industry at NYC-based shoe store David Z, where he would stock none other than Clarks. Today, Fieg and Clarks’ relationship has developed into a multi-collection partnership.
Inspired by the unparalleled NYC sneaker culture of Fieg’s childhood, the Kith CEO and Clarks Originals team also released their own collection, available now at kith.com and clarksusa.com. The 8th St., Kith SS23 collection includes the Breacon, Lockhill, and Sandford models in calming colorways. Earthy browns, deep blues, light greens, and shadowy grays permeate the collection.
The sneaker-like Breacon design is the quintessence of modern footwear. Featuring a suede upper, ultra-smooth sole, and futuristic aesthetic, these kicks are designed for the contemporary sneaker head. Meanwhile, the Lockhill and Sanford models are reminiscent of your classic sneaker. Composed of a minimal upper and chunky sole, level up your sneaker game with these modern classics.
