Kith Opens First European Flagship in Paris
The brand’s largest flagship store yet is located in the historic Pershing Hall Building.
Kith chose an impressive location for its first European flagship store – the historic Pershing Hall Building in the 8th arrondissement of Paris is now home to Kith Retail, Kith Treats, and a Kith for Sadelle’s restaurant. At 16,000 square feet, the store is the largest Kith flagship yet. Kith continued its work with the design firm Snarkitecture to create the space, which is magnificent and polished.
Upon entry to the store, visitors are greeted by Carrera marble-tiled floors and a barrel-vaulted ceiling decorated with plaster casts of Air Max 1 sneakers. On each continent where Kith opens a flagship store, they choose a different sneaker to highlight. The Parisian flagship features the Air Max 1 as a tribute to the Pompidou Center, a Parisian building with an innovative design that inspired Tinker Hatfield to create the iconic sneaker for Nike in 1987. To celebrate this legacy, Kith has released a collaboration with Nike, available exclusively at the new flagship. The shoe is a beautifully designed update of an old favorite and features the colors of the Parisian flag.
Visitors to the store can grab a bite at Kith Treats, the brand’s beloved ice cream and cereal bar, which features some specials exclusive to the Paris location. The sleek minimalist design that characterizes all Kith projects is evident here, but in several areas of the store, ornate Parisian touches shine through. This is especially true in the decorative banister of the store’s grand staircase.
Finally, after a long day of browsing through Kith Retail, a delicious meal awaits at the first international outpost of New York-based restaurant Sadelle’s. The restaurant is known for its brunch menu and will highlight NYC-inspired items like The Babka Swirl, an ice cream treat once available at Kith’s SoHo location.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Kith Paris flagship is opening with some precautionary measures. But that doesn’t mean it’s impossible to enjoy the space firsthand; you can book a time slot to visit here.
