London-based fashion designer duo Charlotte Knowles and Alexandre Arsenault showcased their Spring/Summer 2024 collection at London Fashion Week on Sunday, providing an edgy motorcycle aesthetic to a sultry lookbook. Fueled with the biker-chic energy, the collection was seeped with a corset-hemmed moto jacket, a linebacker-shouldered coat with a nipped waist, and wide-legged lowrider trousers crafted in bulky bull leather coated in abraded black and a hypnotic seafoam green.
Attention to detail is a conspicuous player for the brand’s latest collection, incorporating couture-level craftsmanship exhibited in fully-fringed dresses and accessories included in the collection. KNWLS’ jewelry collaboration with Parisian jewelry label Panconesi is utilized, created in the shapes of slick convoluted hoop earrings and jagged enameled spikes, draped with raucous metal beads.
Seductive armor-like corsets, bras, and the brand’s iconic Fang and Razr bags are similarly formulated and embellished with tassels and braided straps. The collection’s blouses and floor-skimming skirts covered in chequered gauze are lacerated with dramatic flair. Models are dressed in bateau neck minidresses and asymmetrical maxi skirts with thigh-high slits offered in a bold coral and deep navy hue, finished with an oil-slick sheen.
Denim in the collection is delivered in a unique wash, with bleach patterns decorating ebony raw-hemmed coats and low-rise baggy jeans, with a parallel trouser silhouette in a scratched-out red camo. In true “motomami” fashion, the crackled leather in this season’s daring biker boots and moto jackets is deliberately gnarled, reflecting a worn-down pair. Cropped lycra bustiers and cycling shorts offer a bold sporty vibe, as well as ribbed knit vests that spotlight KNWLS’ signature corset hem.
For a more iconic touch, closing out the show was none other than Mia Khalifa- a symbol for reinvention perfectly resonating with the KNWL’s brand.
KNWLS Spring/Summer 2024 collection bleeds out dangerous feminine energy, inflamed with hardcore yet desirable looks that speak to the fearless Harley-Davidson riders everywhere.
