Kylie Jenner Announces a Collaborative Cosmetics Collection with Stormi
Kylie Cosmetics welcomes its first collaboration with the two-year-old makeup lover.
While we’re only on week one of 2020, Kylie Jenner didn’t waste any time to announce her first Kylie Cosmetics project of the new decade: a collaborative Valentine’s Day collection with her daughter Stormi. In a behind-the-scenes Instagram post, Jenner showed an enthusiastic Stormi pointing at her future lip kit colorways next to packaging designs reading “Stormi” on a table in the CEO’s office. The makeup mogul conveniently showed images of a possible eyeshadow palette as well, all under the caption “coming soon…”.
Stormi’s birthday is February 1, so the timing of the launch makes perfect sense. Building off of the soon-to-be two-year-old’s love for animals, the Valentine’s Day packaging strays from the stereotypical hearts and candy and instead finds a focal point in colorful imagery of butterflies. After all, many fans speculate that the 22-year-old billionaire and her then-boyfriend Travis Scott named Stormi after the butterfly effect, making the design that much more fitting.
At the end of 2019, the makeup giant Coty bought a 51% stake in Kylie Cosmetics for a sizable $600 million dollars. After news of the deal broke, Kris Jenner told CNBC, “This is what she wants to do for the rest of her life. [Kylie] talks about it all the time. Twenty years from now she sees herself doing this and maybe passing it down to her daughter [Stormi].”
The first step in training Stormi to one day take over the Kylie Cosmetics empire, this collaborative Valentine’s Day collection is sure to be a hit. Below, take a look at the sneak peek Jenner shared to Instagram yesterday.
