Gaga's about to become a Vegas showgirl! Lady Gaga just announced that she will take up residency at MGM's Park Theater in the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino in Las Vegas beginning in December 2018, with a brand new show built specifically for the venue. The pop sensation took to social media to confirm the news, which started spreading last night, stating "The rumors are true! I will have my own residency at MGM’s Park Theater. Get ready for a brand new show!! It’s been my lifelong dream to be a Las Vegas girl, I’m so overjoyed!" before jubilantly adding, "LOVE YOU LITTLE MONSTERS WE DID IT, MEET ME IN Las Vegas!!" Las Vegas will go Gaga, indeed.

In an official statement, Gaga shared, “It’s the land of Elvis, Tony Bennett and Frank Sinatra, the Rat Pack, Elton John, Judy Garland and Liza Minnelli. It has been a life-long dream of mine to play Las Vegas. I am humbled to be a part of a historical line-up of performers, and to have the honor of creating a new show unlike anything Vegas has ever seen before. I’ll tell you exactly what I told my MGM and Park Theater partners – you can count on this performer always for one thing…I’ll leave my heart on the stage every single night. Thank you to my fans for always believing in me. Meet me in Las Vegas baby, we did it!”

Gaga is just the latest of a string of top-tier contemporary performers to set up camp in Vegas, joining her fellow venue headliners Cher and Bruno Mars, Queen of Las Vegas Celine Dion, and Britney Spears, whose four-year long Piece of Me residency concludes on New Year's Eve, among countless others. The residency will kick off in December 2018 and will last for two years.

The shows will follow the release of A Star Is Born, in which she makes her debut in a leading role. The announcement comes just one day after the artist concluded the North American leg of her Joanne World Tour in Los Angeles (she just played Las Vegas on Saturday!) The residency doesn't come as a surprise given how Gaga expressed her desire to call Vegas her performance home not too long ago. “I’m excited someday to do that,” she told the Mix 94.1-FM morning show in January before her monumental Super Bowl LI halftime show performance. “I love Las Vegas and the people there, and I love show business. I’m a real old-fashioned girl.” Mazel Gaga, we'll see you at the poker tables.
