Lady Gaga Postpones the release of her new album Chromatica

Gaga has announced via social media that she’ll be postponing the release of her upcoming album Chromatica, due to the coronavirus.

Lady Gaga has postponed the release of her new album Chromatica originally scheduled to drop on April 10th because of the coronavirus pandemic. “While I believe art is one the strongest things we have to provide joy and healing to each other… it just doesn’t feel right,” the star said in a statement.

Chromatica is the highly anticipated follow up album to Joanne and, A Star is Born soundtrack. Back in February, Gaga dropped the lead single, “Stupid Love”. The dance-pop track was well received by fans, and the music video saw Gaga dressed in pink, dancing on another planet. Just before the official video dropped, Gaga tweeted, “earth is cancelled.” That tweet now seems like an eerie prediction, rather than a promotional tease.

Gaga explained that her priority right now, like so many others, is to help those in need. Taking to social media she shared, “it’s important for me that the attention is on getting essential medical equipment to health professionals, making sure kids who depend on public schools for meals get the assistance they need, and that we help those who will be financially impacted by the pandemic.”

In a lengthy post Gaga also confirmed that she will be forced to cancel her Las Vegas residency. As well as confirming the cancellation of a special surprise performance she had lined up for Coachella. She urged fans to stay at home but said, “I promise you that when we can go out again, I’m going to make it SO MUCH FUN. I can’t wait to be dancing with all of you!”
