Lady Gaga celebrates Valentine’s Day in one of the best ways: With tattoos and tequila
Lady Gaga made a commitment this Valentine’s Day, by getting not one but two tattoos. The first, and largest, of the tattoos is a minimalistic outline of a rose stretching down the singer’s spine. “A tattoo toast to ‘la vie en rose’ by the beautiful @winterstone my spinal cord is now a rose,” she wrote on Instagram.
This is a reference to the Edith Piaf song that she covered on the Cheek to Cheek tour with Tony Bennet, and would be why Bradley Cooper chose Lady Gaga to star in his movie A Star is Born. He told Associated Press that seeing her perform at a charity event was “THE moment” and one that would later be re-created in a definitive scene from the movie.
It must be the season of faulty tattoos, because Gaga’s second one, notes of her stage name on a musical staff, was missing its fifth line. Although not as bad as Ariana Grande’s Small Barbecue Grill, she was quick to laugh at herself and correct it- most importantly, putting the blame on alcohol. “Musical crisis averted. Too many tequilas forgot the fifth staff line poor thing.”
