In honor of Lamborghini’s first all-terrain, the Huracaìn Sterrato, Rhude and Lamorghini have teamed up in the creation of a stylistic capsule collection. First debuting at Art Basel 2022 in Miami before its appearance in Rhude’s AW23 Los Angeles show in February of this year, the collection combines the sleek design qualities inherent to Lamborghini with the sartorial sense of Rhude’s uber-cool guy clothing. “The Rhude x Automobili Lamborghini capsule collection has been expressly created to reflect the design innovation and cutting edge style synonymous with both our brands,” shares Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, Stephan Winkelmann. “This is just a taste of what’s to come,” 

For Creative Director and Founder of Rhude, Rhuigi Villaseñor, a collaboration with Lamborghini has been a long time coming — he himself is a proud owner of the Lamborghini Urus, the label’s Super SUV. “Cars and Fashion are two of my favorite life joys, being able to marry these fields in a modern and intriguing approach excited me, I’m so thrilled for the world to see what we cook up here,” shares Villaseñor on the collection. “Can’t thank the Lamborghini team enough for believing in my vision and letting me bring this to life.”

The collection itself has been steered by utilitarian garments; fabrications have been chosen to be durable and longwearing like sturdy canvas and twill, while silhouettes reflect aviator and militaristic styles. Design motifs from Lamborghini vehicles have been implemented into the design details of garments, such as vents on the rear of anorak jackets that mimic the vents on the rear of the Huracaìn Sterrato. 

What is most impressive about this collaboration is its clear and steadfast dedication to timeless design. Similar to the way a Lamborghini from the 70’s is still a beautiful piece of machinery today, these garments have been made to endure the test of time. There is a sense of Italian craftsmanship that holds true throughout the aesthetic in the collection, pulling inspiration from pieces that are canonically classic menswear pieces. Even the more logo-centric pieces such as graphic sweatshirts featuring both Rhude and Lamborghini insignia have been designed to mimic the perfect vintage varsity hoodie that you spend a lifetime of hoping to come across in a vintage store.
