"White Mustang" is a prototypical Lana Del Rey piano-pop ballad off the artist's latest album Lust for Life. In its audio form, the track focuses on a tumultuous relationship with a fellow musician through the lens of Lana's nostalgic, distinctly American romanticism. The video, released earlier this afternoon, however, is much more revealing and concept-driven.

It begins with a breathtaking, swooping drone shot that unveils the video's setting: a retrofuturistic metropolis flecked with remnants of old world glamour. We quickly enter Del Rey's home, a bare, UFO-like disc of concrete that could have easily been pulled from Frank Lloyd Wright's design notebook.

We're then introduced to the object of Lana's cinematic adoration: an angular, leather jacket-clad rockstar type with bright blue eyes, thick orangey stubble, and flowing blond locks. They embrace and pull apart, twist and dance in a slow-motion waltz of devotion, resentment, and obsession throughout the video's four-minute play. The video's complete with a foreboding rocket launch, flowing dresses, hoop earrings, chunky gold jewelry, and all the lingering skin-to-skin and echoing melodies you'd expect from an entry in Del Rey's musical canon.
