Lanvin’s Fall/Winter 2020 Collection
Fusing ’20s elegance with today’s successful woman, the Lanvin Fall/Winter 2020 collection was both classic and modern.
Set in Paris’s Manufacture des Gobelins, founded by Louis XIV, the Lanvin Fall/Winter 2020 collection was an ode to the shimmering 1920’s while models strutted past France’s most acclaimed tapestries. Creative director Bruno Sialelli paid homage to the label’s self-made female founder with a collection made for the woman who’s set on success without losing her sense of comfort or self.
The majority of looks in the collection were paired with gloves, from teal to maroon or classic white, and a “J” wedged heel. At once classic and modern, the outerwear was heavy with leather, featuring capes, trench coats, and blazers coming in a deep red or ominous navy. The eveningwear was elegant and reminiscent of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s lavish descriptions of Gatsby’s parties as some dazzled with beads or were layered under white fur, while most had thin straps and calf-length bodices.
