Life House Opens New Boutique Hotel In Miami Beach’s South Of Fifth Neighborhood

The Tudor-style cottage by the beach is ready to become Miami’s newest hotspot

Life House has added another addition to its existing portfolio of luxe properties. The newly opened South of Fifth joins the roster of the brand’s historical hotels, crafted to perfection for the modern traveler. Spotlighting the only example of Tudor architecture that exists within the surroundings of South Beach, the landmark which originates back to the 1930s helps deliver an injection of classic glamour for the SoFi zone.  With the updated Tudor-style cottage just steps away from beach, the newly refurbished hotspot is about to become the hottest oasis in the South of Fifth neighborhood. Housing 26 luxurious rooms, with an open-air garden lounge and garden patio, an indoor living room that reveals itself to be an outdoor courtyard, and the newly opened on-property restaurant and bar, Pretty Swell, the property promises a unique stay with every step.

Once guests arrive at the dreamy property, one enters the garden lounge that welcomes you to the hotel’s facade, curated with a design narrative that brings in eclectic south beach culture through an artistic lens—just imagine the beach shack of your dreams with touches of mid-century craftsmanship. Depending on the party size, guests are accommodated with the 26 guest rooms that encompass Queen and King rooms as well as the modern Quad chambers that include four custom-made, full-size bunk beds for groups of friends traveling together. Alongside the main cabins, three specialty suites are spotlighted. The Artist’s King Suite features a large living room area with a built-in vinyl player for good musical vibes all around, the Family Suite which has a king-size bed plus four bunk beds, and The Writer’s Studio which offers a specially selected collection of books, desk, and reading nook—all featuring the hotel’s standard luxe amenities such as Le Labo bath products, Marshall speakers and Revival New York luxury linens.

“Our South of Fifth house is an artisan’s eclectic retreat by the shore, with a musing for the swell of the sea,” says Rami Zeidan, Founder & CEO of Life House. “We intend to celebrate the architecture of the landmark building while optimizing all spaces for the modern traveler who can spend the week working comfortably from their rooms or public spaces and then run to the beach as soon as that Zoom call ends.”

Alongside the opening of the hotel, Life House also announces the arrival of Pretty Swell—the new cafe-meets-cocktail bar set on the main floor of the South of Fifth location. Following the opening of fellow eateries created by Life House such as Terras in Little Havana, Sister Ship in Nantucket, and Wildflower in Denver, the new spot sources inspiration from some of the major surfing capitals of the world—for a fusion of a laid-back beach culture approach with a flair for elegance, seen throughout the space that boasts indoor-outdoor dining with two open-air enclaves and dreamy garden patio. “We wanted to create a venue with a come-as-you-are vibe for any time of the day. To this end, we built a space where locals can come by for coffee in the morning, stay for work-from-patio sessions and healthy lunch, or meet friends for drinks and dinner at night,” says Rami Zeidan, CEO, and Founder of Life House. “Pretty Swell pays homage to our love for the ocean by creating a multi-faceted sustainability protocol and a locally-rooted narrative that our guests can relate to.”
