Like A Prayer: The 2018 Met Gala Theme May Tackle Religion

The transformative power of fashion can take you anywhere, leading to the exploration of otherworldly connections and even next year’s rumored Met Gala theme: religion. The faith appears to be alive and well for The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, who have been rumored to be in the early stages of planning the fashion and religion-themed exhibit.

For years, designers have never shuttered away from incorporating at-times controversial religious connotations throughout their collections, including Dolce & Gabbana, Jean Paul Gaultier, Givenchy, John Galliano, Margiela and Versace. Despite the conflicts religion may bring in society, it’s a pivotal moment in time to memorialize the conjoining of fashion and religion as one.
