LION BABE Releases Video Series For “Cosmic Wind” Anniversary

The funk-soul duo celebrates the one year anniversary of their sophomore album “Cosmic Wind” with a 3 part video series that just finalized.

LION BABE is a New York-based duo comprised of singer/songwriter Jillian Hervey and producer Lucas Goodman, and the pair brings funk-soul music back for a discography described by Rolling Stone as a psychedelic dance party. Last year LION BABE released Cosmic Wind, the sophomore album that followed their 2016 debut Begin.

Cosmic Wind saw 15 tracks that introspectively highlighted the duo’s growth, along with a feature from hip-hop legend Raekwon and a disco-infused track with help from Leikeli47. To celebrate the one year anniversary of Cosmic Wind, LION BABE released a 3 part video series. With the official videos for “Sexy Please” and “Different Planet” having already dropped, the last part of the series came yesterday with the “Cosmic Wind” video, exactly a year since the album came out.

As the album explored what it means to find one’s self and the natural inclination for humans to find imaginative ways to move through the world, the visuals for each video embody Cosmic Wind‘s mood and feeling. “Cosmic Wind” uses gold and blue hues that evoke a sense of confidence, while “Different Planet” is sensual as it takes us through the galaxy and “Sexy Please” is just that with vintage effects on the beach.
