Janelle Monáe has come to bless your Thursday. It's commonplace now for artists to drop a single out of the blue, which is all well and fine. But Monáe is dropping two singles, "Django Jane" and "Make Me Feel," with a highly produced music video for each.

"Make Me Feel" pairs throwback '80s visuals with an immensely funky beat. The guitar at times is reminiscent of Prince's "Kiss" or George Michael. Throughout the song, Monáe sings "it's like I'm powerful with a little bit of tender," a perfect description of not only the way her lover makes her feel, but the song itself.

"Django Jane" rounds out Monáe's Thursday offering. Whereas "Make Me Feel" swims in sexual invigoration, "Django Jane" proudly champions female empowerment and black excellence. "Remember when they used to say I look too mannish? / Black girl magic, y'all can't stand it," she raps. In a slyly brilliant move, she assures that she's "Jane Bond, never Jane Doe."

All of this is amping up the hype for Monáe's third full project called Dirty Computer, which is being described as an "Emotion Picture," including an album and "accompanying narrative film." During Black Panther's opening weekend, a teaser for the project premiered ahead of certain screenings. The new album will be released on April 27. Watch the trailer here.
