Livestream Saint Laurent Women’s Winter 2021

Anthony Vaccarello will unveil the goings later this week

The Rosewood rib-knit bike shorts, almond-toed mink mules, and silk crepe muslin blousons hedged in black feather trim that carried a slither of models through the sand dunes of Saint Laurent’s Summer 2021 season has surely reigned as the modish, impish uniform for anyone pledging to fashion amidst the throes of quarantine. As we turn into warmer seasons and haltingly reemerge from lockdown, Anthony Vaccarello turns his hand from the boudoir lull of our year indoors to unveil his latest moment for the house: Women’s Winter 2021.

Teased as another destination flick, Saint Laurent posted a trove of dizzying shots to Instagram in anticipation of the outing. Captured by director Nathalie Canguilhem, her lens takes us atop cut edges and sharp peaks somewhere worlds over, thoughtfully picking up a reliable ballad of ‘the outdoors’ post-pandemic.

While Vaccarello may uphold the hot ‘fashion en plein’ ethos, it may not all be scalloped lace lingerie and Camellia Flower Chokers striding along some unassuming sand dunes. Winter 2021 seems to promise Saint Laurent heritage in few words, the strong-shouldered, truncated skirt, boot-up-to-there, sultry second-skin garments of YSL’s golden promise, reliably at the nexus of louche glamour, holds us in anticipation for Wednesday’s reveal.
