Lizzo Drops New Shapewear Line “Yitty”

The “Truth Hurts” singer is aiming to make the shapewear industry more inclusive.

Shapewear is all of the rage in women’s fashion right now. From Kim Kardashian’s iconic brand Skims, to more and more women exploring wearing shapewear items as every day wear, it’s an exciting new era for this section of the fashion world. Despite all of the new innovations in shapewear, there’s still a disconnect when it comes to size inclusivity. While size inclusivity is a big topic of conversation in the fashion world, there’s still a big divide. Although a lot of brands are extending their size ranges, there’s still a large part of women who are excluded. Taking from her own experience with this exclusion, Lizzo brings a new size inclusive brand to the shapewear world.

Yitty is the newest shapewear brand to hit the market. In a recent TikTok, the singer shares how her experience with shapewear was not the best. She said “It was a gateway to me not liking my body, and not liking myself, and not feeling like normal.” In light of her love for fashion, Lizzo became more interested in having autonomy in her sexiness and beauty. When looking at the shapewear section in a store, she couldn’t help but notice the disarray of products available. After not being able to find what she was looking for, and noticing other women sharing the same experience, Lizzo decided it was time for the shapewear world to change.

From that experience, Yitty was born. The new shapewear line promotes body positivity and loving the skin you’re in. From Lizzo’s songs, like “Good As Hell”, these ideals are essential to not only her music, but how she lives her life. Yitty is shapewear that you can wear “underwear, overwear, anywhere, period,” the star said in a TikTok video. Sizes range from an XS to a 6X, creating a size inclusive range that has been hard to find in the previous shapewear market. Not only is the brand size inclusive, but its carbon neutral and aims eco-friendly too. All Yitty items are made from 65 percent recyclable fibers, and their packaging is made from 100 percent recycled materials.

The collection drops on Fabletics on April 12. To make sure you’re able to get your hands on this exciting new shapewear collections, sign up for emails from Yitty on the Fabletics website.
