‘Cuz I Love You’ sparkles with messages of self-love and acceptance.
Lizzo oozes nothing but confidence in her new album ‘Cuz I Love You’. She is a musician, rapper, dancer and now also an actor as she has been picked up to co-star alongside Cardi B and Jennifer Lopez in the live-action film ‘Hustlers’. Lizzo shows no signs of slowing down, however her album clearly dictates that she is someone you will not be able to ignore in 2019. ‘Cuz I Love You’ is the perfect blend of her 2013 release ‘Lizzobangers’ and 2016’s ‘Coconut Oil EP’ with funk, soul and silky R&B sounds blessing our ears. Lizzo has centered the album around self love and empowerment, and the message shines through in her song ‘Soulmate’. “True love ain’t something you can buy yourself, True love finally happens when you by yourself,” she sings. “So if you by yourself, then go and buy yourself, Another round from the bottle on the higher shelf”.
The beauty of Lizzo’s work is that it speaks to the human experiences that can be relatable to a huge demographic- whether It might be someone dealing with a breakup or body image issues, her songs are infused with inspiring lyrics that feel authentic, with an indestructible attitude that oozes with each line in club bangers such as “How I Feel”and more sensual jams like “Lingerie”. Her music not only has an impact on her fans, but also sends across a bigger message of self love being an incredibly powerful force as a part of the human experience.
