To celebrate its well-established relationship with world-renowned architect and designer, Frank Gehry, Louis Vuitton pays homage through an exhibition on the the Balcon d’Honneur of the Grand Palais, during Art Basel Paris. This marks the brand’s third year as an associate partner of Art Basel Paris. In homage to their 20 year collaboration with Gehry, above the grand staircase at the Grand Palais hangs a white fish which serves as a reference to Gehry’s architectural vision.
Gehry has previously worked with Louis Vuitton to create the Fondation Louis Vuitton building, which is celebrating ten years this year, a series of perfume stoppers designed in 2021, and a collection of handbags. He’s also behind the Maison Louis Vuitton Seoul, which opened in 2019.
Continuing Louis Vuitton’s commitment to art, in honor of Gaston-Louis Vuitton–the founder’s grandson–when he began to call on artists to design display windows, advertisements, and objects for the maison, the house has continued on to create international recognition for its iconic capsule collections and one-offs special pieces, providing the savoir-faire and sense of innovation since the brand was founded in 1854.
