Louis Vuitton Considers Ergonomics for Spring Summer 2027 Collection

Nicolas Ghesquière presented a collection with thoughtfulness towards functionality and comfort
Ergonomie is the practice of designing with effort to elevate comfort and ease of movement by looking at the human interaction with consideration for the human anatomy. When applying this term to fashion, it’s a mode of dressing concerning functionality and the condition which the clothing projects onto the body. Rather than designing apart from the human form, the design envelops the body as a central importance. For Spring Summer 2027 Louis Vuitton presents a collection that is built on the idea of ergonomics in fashion, designed by Nicolas Ghesquière.

A few looks stood out as both deeply Louis Vuitton and full of fresh ideas. A printed skirt was paired with a tailored leather jacket in a butter yellow. The look was accessorized with patent leather boots and a shoulder bag. Another look featured a mustard yellow sweater, leather pants, and brown trench, accessorized with jewels. The brand’s signatures ran throughout informing the color palette and styles. The monogram even showed up in bags and one statement bomber jacket.

Designing with the idea of ergonomie finds its roots in the history of Louis Vuitton, a brand aligned with travel. The collection encourages movement by presenting a silhouette that exists as part of the body, rather than as an external entity. Fluidity flows throughout, ultralight materials are molded around the body. The term “second skin” describes the way that the clothes fit on the body. Ghesquière considers his audience, the wearer, as the most important figure in the design.
