The Damier pattern first appeared on Louis Vuitton trunks in 1888 and has since become one of the House’s most recognizable codes. Its latest expression comes through Le Damier de Louis Vuitton, which expands with eight new fine jewelry designs in gold and diamonds.

The expansion begins with three large hoop earrings in yellow, white, and rose gold. Slightly angled, diamond-set squares form each hoop, catching the light with every movement. Single and double ear cuffs offer a closer fit, translating the signature motif to a smaller scale as they wrap around the ear.

For the necklace, a gold chain slides freely through a central two-row motif, allowing the pendant to fall low along the collarbone or sit closer to the throat in the style of a bolo. A slim yellow-gold chain bracelet brings the same flexibility to the wrist, while a nine-millimeter cuff gives the pattern greater weight. Set with 120 diamonds totaling more than 2.8 carats, the cuff is the collection’s most substantial addition.

Each diamond is set by hand using a four-grain technique, while the bracelets can feature up to seventy individually assembled and spaced links. Once complete, every piece is polished until the gold feels smooth against the skin without sacrificing the crisp definition of the grid.
