‘Deep Time’ is an odyssey, capturing the exciting heritage of geological treasures. The expertly crafted gems encompass the breadth of their creation. There is a thoughtful understanding of geology and its significance brought forth through a contemporary lens. The pieces honor the time and energy it took to forge the breathtaking stones they feature. With a savior-fare imagination, Amfitheatrof expands past conventional design, reimagining classic Louis Vuitton motifs to showcase the heritage of jewelry and the gems that help create them. Amfitheatrof speaks to the core themes of the line and the deep meaning behind each gemstone, saying “Deep Time will transport you deeply into the past, to a time and place that is so remote and perhaps even difficult to comprehend. But at the same time, the stones—these treasures that span millennia—will bring you right there, to the beginning of the planet and into a history of the world and its mystical geological legacy.”

This addition is the largest collection to date since the maison’s High Jewelry debut. The collection depicts a journey through two impressive acts: geology and life. The complete line features 16 themes with over 170 stunning pieces. The first chapter alone features 95 meticulously crafted designs adorned with an impressive number of gemstones. The collection is a feat of expert artistry and a wide knowledge of this planet’s geological formation. It is truly remarkable how each earthly phenomenon is captured; from non-oil Colombian Emeralds to aquamarine and yellow sapphires, each stone acts as an elegant yet powerful allusion to Earth’s greatest transformations.

The collection begins with an ode to Gandwana, the unified landmass that stood billions of years ago. There is an ethereal reverence to time – how it erodes and ultimately reconfigures Earth’s seemingly unmovable landscape. The line continues with its poetic dissent, recounting the beautiful shifts of land and sea. Each combination of jewels represents a different chapter in the Earth’s history. The individual pieces are unique to the geological feature they each reflect. The fiery and pink tourmalines encompass the violent heat of volcanic eruptions from which they formed, while sapphires evoke the calming cool of the sea. The juxtaposition that forms from one chapter to the next becomes a grand metaphor for the turbulent balance of Earth’s natural progression.

Each piece moves through time and space, centered only by the striking and iconic Louis Vuitton “V”.  This design feature remains constant throughout the pieces, grounding this epic tale in the timeless legacy that is the Louis Vuitton brand. The combination of these features brings greater meaning to the pieces and the stories they tell.

The architecture of this line encompasses the delicate genesis of the natural world. Experiments with textures and layering help to fabricate the Homeric story of creation. Artful references to botanicals highlight the beauty that forms in the throngs of the Universe. A perfect summation of the long and magnificent bloom of life. Each piece is as unique as the fossils they represent, they are one-of-a-kind as if they were naturally picked that way from the Earth itself. Geology is romanticized in this way, each stone a testament to their long and harrowing journey from rubble to ruby.

Each piece of jewelry is meant for versatile wear. With innovative designs, each piece is to be worn in several ways, allowing each gem to be appreciated as a piece of wearable art. There is no limit to the creativity showcased in this line. It is a poetic retelling of history that combines exquisite architecture with hand-cut stones to bring the past back to life in a beautiful and devoted display.
