Louis Vuitton Sets Love in Motion

The fashion house unveiled the new Tambour Taiko Arty Automata, a whimsical and meticulously crafted watch
La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton unveils an unconventional timepiece that furthers the house’s pursuit of artistry. Featuring horological automata and grand feu enamel, its intricate design reflects a meticulous attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

The piece builds off a history of the house’s collaborations with various artists, creating an art piece in its own right. It comes after the release of the Carpe Diem and the Fiery Heart, both of which strove for excellence in design. With animated dials, the new piece is a manifestation of joy with an appreciation of playfulness.

“LOVE” is spelled out above the tourbillon aperture, and a pair of glossy red lips is just left of the dial. An eye looks towards the dial, with lush eyelashes made of real feathers. The multilayered designs bring color into a collaging harmony, with the Louis Vuitton floral motifs spotted throughout.
With the push of a button, the flowers twirl and diamonds sparkle upon the watch face. The eye glances thoughtfully around as a candy heart rocks with rhythmic oscillation.

The creation of the watch demands highly specialized technique, exacting precision, and a steady hand. From firing the enamel to its delicate application across each surface, the process remains challenging even for the most experienced artisans.
The result of 250 hours of meticulous manual work, the piece reveals itself as a true labor of love, its detail immediately apparent to the trained eye. The finishing touch is an arrangement of rainbow rubies and sapphires set along the bezel.
