Prior to Pharrell William’s debut show as the new Men’s Creative Director, Louis Vuitton’s intermediary Fall 2024 Men’s collection was designed by the Louis Vuitton Studio Prêt-à-Porter Homme as an elevation of everyday dressing. Sticking to the maison’s signature menswear practice, the collection hybridizes the classic tropes of professional and casual dressing in a reinvigorated transitional wardrobe.
The collection’s garments reflect this theme, with pieces themselves weaved from conventionally opposite archetypes. The main motif of the collection is a pattern transmuted from corduroy textiles and the maison’s emblematic Epi leather, incorporated in diagonal lines brought to life through an assorted selection of materials and techniques, hinting at the visual illusion of movement within the pieces and accessories.
A green aviator jacket with leather panels is included in the collection, offering a staple fall essential, as well as a dark olive generational suit composed of an overshirt and trousers, and a striking sea blue traditional suit with trousers casually augmented in volume. A bold red wool-jacquard bomber jacket with matching shorts is also delivered for added warmth. Fabrics also include an embossed suede and a botanic monogram denim.
Jewelry is in corduroy and Epi leather, etched in metals with an aged gold finish on plaque bracelets, necklaces, and band rings. Mixing formality with athleisurewear is present in the LV Discovery derby set on a sneaker sole, and the LV Pacific slip-on with a comfortable bed of a sneaker sole and suede upper, also reflected in a chukka version with Damier lining. The Aerogram backpack is dipped in taupe or light blue-grained leather, alongside City Keepalls in light blue-grained leather or blue monogram canvas.
