Louis Vuitton To Create Non-Surgical Face Masks
Their next step in the battle against covid-19
Since the CDC recommendation that when going out one should wear a face mask, sales have gone through the roof. Not only have people cleared stores shelves, but online retailers have been bought out. The problem is, surgical masks are being taken away from those who need it most: doctors and nurses on the front line fighting covid-19 and treating infected patients.
Many people, including fashion students and your neighbors, have turned to making their own non-surgical face masks out of cloth. Even then, it’s still hard to get your hands on one with such high demand. Now we have another player in the mix, luxury fashion house Louis Vuitton, who has been at the forefront of the fight against covid-19, will re-purpose American workshops to produce non-surgical cloth face masks.
Artisans will create hundreds of thousands of face masks in workshops located from New Jersey to California to Texas. The masks are designed with safety in mind, and the cloth used will be washable and the masks adjustable. Masks will be donated and distributed in states currently most heavily impacted by covid-19 and Louis Vuitton will partner with local organizations in each state to better assist in emergency response efforts.
