Louis Vuitton Unveils Exhibit And Release Date For Virgil Abloh Air Force 1
Louis Vuitton has announced the launch of its collaborative Nike line designed by Virgil Abloh, along with an immersive NYC exhibit.
The wait is almost over. Louis Vuitton has announced the release of its sneaker line with Nike conceptualized by the late Virgil Abloh, Off-White Founder and the Maison’s former Men’s Artistic Director. These footwear styles, first debuted as part of Abloh’s Spring/Summer 2022 Men’s collection for Louis Vuitton, and reimagine the sporting brand’s signature Air Force 1 shoe, which made its introduction in 1982. This season’s collaborative shoe is set for a global launch sometime next month. An official drop date still pends.
The 47 bespoke pairs created by Abloh and crafted in the luxury fashion house’s manufacturing site in Fiesso d’Artico, Venice, Italy, comprise several designs, such as the Gold Low-Top featuring a monogram embossed metallic canvas and the Sail and Multicolor Mid-Top which incorporates Damier leather with an Azur graffiti print finish. Each design arrives in Nike sizes 3.5 to 18 and combines the classic shoe’s composition, Louis Vuitton’s premiere leather, materials, logo, and Abloh’s vision.
The launch accompanies a limited-time exhibition starting May 20th until the 31st at New York City’s Greenpoint Terminal Warehouse in Brooklyn. The sneakers will have displays in physical and virtual forms throughout these kaleidoscopic immersive spaces, along with several installations across the metropolis and worldwide.
