Louis Vuitton Unveils Its Artycapucines Retrospective for The 2026 Edition

From the latest Keith Haring-inspired creations to a century of artistic collaborations, Louis Vuitton revisits the relationship between its savoir-faire and the boundless possibilities of art
Louis Vuitton’s Capucines bag is a modern classic. The Artycapucines, however, take that legacy a step further, transforming an icon of the house into a canvas for artistic expression.
This year marks the seventh year of Artycapucines, celebrated with a retrospective on the Balcon d’Honneur of the Grand Palais. Bringing together fourteen artists, the presentation showcases not only the bags themselves but also works by the artists behind them. More than a milestone, the seventh year reflects the enduring dialogue between artistic imagination and Louis Vuitton’s commitment to craftsmanship.

Among the highlights is the latest Artycapucines collection, dedicated to the work of Keith Haring. Alongside the new creations, a Louis Vuitton suitcase dating to the 1930s, adorned with Haring’s signature, offers a tangible link between the artist’s legacy and the house’s longstanding relationship with art and travel.
While Artycapucines made its debut in 2019, Louis Vuitton’s engagement with artists stretches back more than a century. In 1920, the house collaborated with Pierre Legrain, beginning a creative lineage that would continue through Gaston-Louis Vuitton’s commissions for advertisements, product catalogs, and objects associated with beauty and travel.

Artycapucines builds on this history, bringing together the boundless possibilities of artistic expression and the house’s savoir-faire. Each edition invites artists to reinterpret the Capucines through their own visual language, transforming a recognizable silhouette into an object of experimentation and creative exchange.
The retrospective will be open to the public at the Grand Palais from today, October 23, to the 25th as part of Art Basel Paris.
