Louis Vuitton’s Trip to Paradise

Best souvenir ever: Louis Vuitton Paradise collection.

Louis Vuitton is back with a new collection of men’s sunglasses and jewelry, designed by Virgil Abloh. The Louis Vuitton paradise collection transports you to right the beach, with playful bold lines and bright contrasting colors. All you need is a swimsuit and a drink!

For the sunglasses, the brand reinterpreted the 1.1 Millionaires frame, which debuted at Abloh’s first show as artistic director. Abloh’s Millionaires were inspired by the 2005 Louis Vuitton sunglasses collection designed in collaboration with Pharrell Williams and Nigo, and this latest model continues to honor that. The latest upgrade does bring a new colorway, with an oversized shiny black frame with white metallic details.

The brand also revisited the 1.1 Evidence frame, one of their best-selling models from 2010, by adding a statement bevel frame with grey lenses and silver details. Lastly, they added the Cyclone, a frame that was modeled after a vintage design from 2006. The Cyclone has oversized lenses and a modern frame, complete with Louis Vuitton’s signature monogram flower.

The jewelry in the paradise collection represents the last line imagined by Abloh, who personally expanded the Maison’s men’s jewelry offerings in his time as artistic director. This collection includes classics such as a chain bracelet and necklace, reimagined for paradise with colorful enamel links, crystal glass, and LV charms. Other necklaces are decorated with resin, metal pearls, and monogram flowers. A stainless-steel bracelet completes the collection. The pieces are designed to be stackable, designed for playful wearing and experimentation.

The paradise collection as a whole is somehow both on-trend and timeless, a reminder of Abloh’s excellence in design and the Maison’s excellence in craftsmanship.
