Florence-based multi-brand retailer, LuisaViaRoma, has announced plans to join a score of luxury peers in the gaming world. After its confluence of e-commerce in 1999, LVR has been a bellwether in the digital sector, today unveiling virtual reality app: MOD4 as a cornerstone of its brand.

MOD4 is a forward-thinking app and by joining forces with them, it demonstrates that we believe and invest in current and future innovations,” said LuisaViaRoma CEO, Andrea Panconesi in a press release. “We were able to transition into e-commerce, before many, by predicting the future in terms of technology and innovation and now we move our company to the next level by giving our customers a truly memorable and interactive experience.”

The integration of MOD4 into the LVR fold is a playful iteration of the shopping experience, translating it far beyond D2C drops and brick-and-mortar dependenciesLuisaViaRoma will offer complete access to their online archives (600-count of lux and contemporary brands), allowing users to amass digital wardrobes worn as curated avatars, and even see through with purchasing the actual garment from their website.

Reorienting fashion to the virtual-sphere allows consumer engagement to extend far beyond the capacity of e-commerce and customer serviceAs a robust online presence grows increasingly more critical for brands to fare well in today’s climate, LVR intends for the gaming world to foster interactive and creative communities, allowing consumers to explore fashion at length.

“We are facing a period of great change in which I expect the digital and offline worlds will fuse and evolve at an ever-faster pace,” said Marco Ritratti, co-founder of MOD4 in a press release. “It’s on us to decide how to play the game and shape the fashion industry to come. Maybe it’s time to think about (entertainment)-commerce instead of electronic)-commerce?”

MOD4 will debut internationally in the upcoming weeks. Receive early-access by signing up for LuisaViaRoma’s mailing list.
