In all its feverish heat and sun drenched glory, we can’t beat the summer. But, we can certainly lean into it, and the latest collection from DSquared2 beckons just that. Hot and heavy, the capsule embodies the essence of a scorching summer, sizzling in more ways than one. The collection’s Summer Lovers campaign, shot by Italian photographer Giampaolo Sgura, showcases the perfect wardrobe for a beachside rollick and romance (or two).

Its title drawn from the 1982 film of the same name — Summer Lovers was far from director Randal Kleiser’s first forte in tales of titillating courtship, he also directed Grease and Blue Lagoon — the campaign toes the line within the film’s campy playfulness, all the while engendering a new generation of vacationers to get it on as hot and heavy as the summer sun.

From the languor of the beach to a dynamic city nightlife, the Summer Love campaign concludes at no other than the intimacy of the hotel room. At the end of the day, a fleeting romance makes the best souvenir, and clandestine kisses are the perfect holiday accessory.

As for the collection, light summer fabrics are anchored by signature denim pieces with retro detailing, and breezy volumes sway alongside earthy raffia totes. Blocks of beachy prints are stamped on free-flowing sets. Knit halters, maxi dresses, and tank tops are dipped in color palettes of vibrantly contrasting colors, while palm trees against abstractly rendered sunsets wrap around beachwear.

As wide leg jeans keep it casual and cook, bright colored bikinis keep it even cooler, and in a time when summer sun abounds, Summer Lovers keep the heat coming.
