Mac DeMarco Wants You To Join The Eternal Family
An artist-run membership experience and a place to try out new ideas.
Out now is a trippy 90s-style infomercial dedicated to the launch of Eternal Family, a new entertainment service featuring artists and musicians. like Mac DeMarco, Jerry Paper and others. For a price of $5 per month or $50 per year, one can access the newest “artist-run membership experience and a place to try out new ideas”.
Some of the content featured in this newest digital product includes a conceptual web series by DeMarco on “building an echo chamber” and tutorials by songwriter Jerry Paper on funk music, as well as a whole section dedicated to free HD stock videos with “unlimited use for your personal and commercial projects.” Also featured on the website is another series dubbed ‘OLD ONES’ — a selection of vintage cartoons “gently curated” by DeMarco and co.
“60% of the monthly (Eternal Family) revenue goes to our creators and the rest to operations and funds to create and license more interesting things,” said Cole Kush, 3D artist who made that trippy video for DeMarco’s ‘Here Comes the Cowboy.’ “The goal is to create stable income and a place to try out ideas that can be self-produced and perhaps hard to pitch. More monthly users = more funds to create more shows and add apps for mobile and TV.”
