Madonna, Shakira, & BTS to Headline the FIFA World Cup 2026 Final Halftime Show

Picked by Chris Martin, the co-headliners of the first-ever FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show will take the stage on July 19 at New York New Jersey Stadium

The first-ever FIFA World Cup 2026 Final Halftime Show will take place on July 19 at New York/New Jersey Stadium, bringing together music’s biggest global names for one of the tournament’s most anticipated moments. Longtime Global Citizen collaborator Chris Martin was tapped to help curate the lineup, selecting co-headliners Madonna, Shakira, and BTS to lead the inaugural performance.

More than just a live spectacle, the halftime show will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, a joint initiative aiming to raise $100 million to expand access to quality education and football programs for children around the world. The fund has already raised more than $30 million, with momentum expected to continue throughout the tournament as $1 from every ticket sold to FIFA World Cup 2026 matches will be donated directly to the initiative.

Earlier this week, FIFA and Global Citizen also announced the first group of organizations set to receive grants from the fund, supporting education and football initiatives for children in under-resourced communities across 10 countries. By backing programs that combine learning, sport, and community engagement, the initiative hopes to create greater access to education and long-term opportunities for young people globally.

Global Citizen describes itself as the world’s largest movement dedicated to ending extreme poverty through advocacy, campaigns, and large-scale cultural events. Since its launch, the organization says more than $50 billion in commitments announced through its platforms have impacted over 1.3 billion lives worldwide.
