Maison Valentino & CNMI Announce ACT N°1 as New Guest Designer

Founded on the shared values of diversity and inclusion, Valentino will support ACT N°1 during Milan Fashion Week.

Maison Valentino announced that it will be continuing its spotlight series in conjunction with Italy’s Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (CNMI), to support emerging designers.

By selecting one designer to highlight each season, the Maison can use its power to highlight new talents, allowing them to present a collection to the Maison’s 17 million Instagram followers. The program is designed to feed into the energy that reigns among the new generation of designers, and support the general fashion system.

“We are very happy to be in the second season of this initiative, I thank Maison Valentino for the generosity of this concrete and systematic action,” said Carlo Capasa, President of CNMI. “Recognizing young talents, supporting them and offering them the opportunity to express themselves and experiment is more fundamental today than ever. It is important, especially in an increasingly competitive and global market, that a brand with the prestige of Maison Valentino promotes and supports an emerging brand.”

The first year of the project highlighted inclusive designer Marco Rambald, a creative force in the world of womenswear. The second iteration of the program will support Galib Gassanoff and Luca Lin, founders of the brand ACT N°1.

“The work of Galib Gassanoff and Luca Lin is light and profound as the gaze of every young designer should be and perhaps how all ours should be,” said Valentino’s Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli. “Multiculturalism, respect for diversity and celebration of the human coexist without dogmatism, without presumption in a free and courageous creativity.”

As a brand, ACT N°1. is focused on inclusion, acceptance, and respect, all values shared by Valentino.”The values we represent are in harmony and real synergy with the values of Pierpaolo Piccioli and being supported by him makes us doubly pleased,” said Gassanoff and Lin. “This will be an important platform where the messages we have been conveying since the beginning will reach even further thanks to Valentino and CNMI.”

Gassanoff and Lin will showcase ACT N°1’s latest collection on Valentino’s social media during Milan Women’s Fashion Week in September 2022.
