Maison Valentino Releases “Valentino The Narratives II” Words-Only Campaign
Creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli focuses on authenticity and individuality for the fashion house’s second text-only campaign.
In their second words-only advertising campaign, Maison Valentino once again delves into the literary world with Valentino The Narratives II. The project re-envisions the method fashion is communicated in, while creating “a common quest of building a multi-vocal community.”
Creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli values authenticity and individuality with Valentino The Narratives II, and has invited 17 renowned authors to each create their own campaign layouts, including: Alok Vaid-Menon, Amia Srinivasan, André Aciman, Andrew Sean Greer, Brit Bennett, David Sedaris, Douglas Coupland, Elizabeth Acevedo, Emily Ratajkowski, Fatima Farheen Mirza, Hanif Kureishi, Leila Slimani, Melissa Broder, Michael Cunningham, Mieko Kawakami, Murathan Mungan and Serang Chung. These campaigns are decorated with color, and focus on the idea of love in all its forms.
Valentino The Narratives II also captures Maison’s bond with literature, and the places where literature thrives, by focusing on giving back to the community. Valentino will promote these campaigns with select independent bookstores, such as McNally Jackson and Cafe Con Libros, and will renew their collaboration with Belletrist Book Club–a monthly book subscription service, founded in 2017 by Emma Roberts and Karah Preiss, to promote open dialogue. A “peaceful words campaign guerrilla” will also paper SoHo in New York and other cities.
