At the heart of Isabel Marant’s latest collection lies a versatile masculine–feminine energy, embodied by the “girl running around Paris, going from show to show in denim and a black jacket” — a key reference for the show, according to Marant’s right hand, Kim Bekker.

Denim was everywhere, presented in oversized pants, signature shorts, embroideries, and outerwear, playing off effortlessly throughout the collection. Leather and shiny vinyls come in as a second favorite of the Marant girl, appearing in cherry reds and electric blues, saliently bringing vibrancy into both day and night.
Clashing animal prints — mostly snake print, with a touch of zebra, resurrected from Fall 2010 — add an interesting, eye-catching element, reinforcing the collection’s versatility.

Volumes are wide, yet some jackets are boxy-cut, making the pieces flow through the runway in a careful yet careless manner. Many masculine, blunt-cut pieces are juxtaposed with silks and transparencies, revealing minimalist lingerie — a staple in every French girl’s wardrobe. The collision of intimacy and exposure leaves the viewer intrigued by that elegant sexiness.

The collection also offers many deep-vamp pumps and boots with folded collar details, which bring an incredibly flattering element to the looks — infusing that je ne sais quoi into the overall outfit.
The sculpted heels and sharply plunging boots are presented in monochromatic, textured, and contrast-toe variations, adding a playful flair to the traditional Marant girl uniform. Reinforcing the collection’s duality, jewelry is placed throughout the looks — sometimes taking center stage, like metallic, patterned earrings, or serving as pops of color, such as red hoops.

The Marant man also strolls through the streets alongside the effortless girl — wearing day-to-night suede boots and, of course, the ever-present leather jacket.

Marant’s collection is a study in contrasts, where denim meets silk, animal prints meet minimalism, and volume meets sculpted, with each piece exuding confidence and a hint of mischief.
