Mariah Carey Just Unveiled Her Black Irish Liqueur Label
The highly-venerated pop megastar has just released her newest venture, “Black Irish,” which is an irish cream liqueur that pays tribute to her heritage.
Mariah Carey has just announced that she’s entering into the alcohol business. The superstar took to Instagram to share a promotional photo of her new brand “Black Irish,” which is a line of premium irish cream liqueurs.
The photo––which featured the new Black Irish original bottle and Carey draped against a shoreline in a stunning gold dress––was captioned “Introducing ????? ????? ? Two years in the making. Truly a cause for celebration!!! ??”
The liqueur, which is made in Ireland, comes in three new flavors: Original Irish Cream, White Chocolate, and Salted Caramel. The bottle’s cap is branded Carey’s signature MC logo.
The name pays homage to Carey’s Black and Irish heritage. She’s the child of a Afro-Venezuelan father and Irish mother, and the brand’s name is a subtle nod to her parents. This is a small easter egg for members of the Lambily (Carey’s fanbase) along with the brand’s logo, which features a tiny butterfly––Carey’s signature symbol.
While the announcement comes as a shock to fans of Carey, the brand has been in the works for a while. In a press release for the announcement, Carey explained that she’s been working on this release for almost two years: “I have been putting my heart into this project for almost two years, and I am so excited to finally share this news with you all,” stated Carey in the press release, “I wanted to create something that embodies the holidays and gives everyone a reason to celebrate year-round, and I really think we have done that with Black Irish.”
The brand comes in two sizes, a 750mL bottle priced at $29.99 and a 50mL bottle that goes for $3.99. Be sure to visit the Black Irish website for more details on how to pick up a bottle of Mimi’s newest release to try for yourself.
