MCM’s got the sauce—and it is their new collaboration with the legendary DJ, Honey Dijon.
Honey Dijon grew up in the 1970s on the south side of Chicago, where she began clubbing during her mid-teens. She has now carved a niche in underground electronic music, a mix of “cross-genre sets and total dance-floor chaos”. As a dedicated advocate for gay and transgender rights and awareness, she draws from her experience as a Black trans woman DJ in the dance music scene.
Honey Dijon has long been a coveted name in not only music but the fashion industry, as well, providing soundtracks for runway presentations such as Louis Vuitton and Dior. Now, her capsule collection with MCM has been added her contributions to the fashion industry.
Mixing MCM classics with bold prints, the capsule collection consists of four bags and two t-shirts. Honey Dijon, herself, contributed to the design; yellow, pink, and blue bold type, brandishing “Modern Creation Munich,” sits atop the iconic MCM Visetos pattern on all four of the bags: Large Ottomar Weekender Bag, the Large Aren Hobo, the Mini Classic Crossbody, and the Medium Aren Pouch. The black or white colorway t-shirts feature the bold type across the back with a left chest print of MCM’s green laurel logo.
“I wanted to create a dissertation on travel and style. The merging of utility, beauty and craftsmanship,” says Honey Dijon in a statement. “Creating a collection infused with legacy pieces, I wanted to resurrect the chic era of travel, seamlessly blending timeless elegance with modern sophistication.”
The Honey Dijon x MCM capsule collection is now available on mcmworldwide.com and selected retail stores.
