MCM and Puma Release Their Second Collaboration
One luxury fashion house, one sports brand, and three limited edition drops.
German luxury fashion house MCM and iconic German sportswear brand Puma have dropped their second of three clothing collaborations. This drop comes after their first ‘Show Love’ drop on September 8th, which saw the release of a one-of-a-kind MCM edition of the PUMA Slipstream Lo.
This second ‘Show Up’ drop features a new version of the renowned PUMA basketball shoe, the Slipstream Lo Retro sneakers. This new version of the sneaker comes emblazoned with black and white details and is embellished with MCM’s striking Cubic Monogram print.
The sneaker they are remixing was first released in 1987. The Slipstream series of sneakers has made its way through crucial moments of sneaker history, with this most recent incarnation being showcased by Mikey Williams, a strong and compact guard and offensive-minded player who is not only well-known but also super knowledgeable about the world of basketball.
The second drop of the PUMA x MCM Slipstream Lo was released globally on October 6 at MCM Worldwide in-store and online and from October 8 globally in selected PUMA Stores and its luxury distribution partners. Now, if you’re trying to score the sneakers, they will cost you just under $500, whether you buy in-store or online.
This collaboration is another of multiple collaborations MCM has recently done. Over recent years the German luxury house has collaborated with the brands Crocs, BAPE, WizPak, and even Seoul-based graffiti artist SAMBYPEN.
With all of those recent collaborations and all the recent activewear and high fashion collaborations we have been seeing, it made sense for the two German powerhouses to collaborate on this drop.
Now that two of the three drops have been released, fans are starting to wonder when drop three will see its way in stores and online as well. And also what the next name to follow ‘Show Love’ and ‘Show Up’ will be.
