The nine finalists for the 2018 LVMH Prize have been officially announced, and the competition is stiff. Each of the nine designers is up for the chance to win $300,000 and a mentorship with executives from the top luxury company, a prize that can make or break a designer's success in the industry.

The finalists, which were selected from over 1,300 applications and 90 countries, include: A-Cold-Wall by Samuel Ross, Botter by Rushemy Botter and Lisi Herrebrugh, Charles Jeffrey Loverboy by Charles Jeffrey, Doublet by Masayuki Ino, Eckhaus Latta by Zoe Latta and Mike Eckhaus, Kwaidan Editions by Léa Dickely and Hung La, Ludovic de Saint Sernin, Matthew Adams Dolan, and Rokh by Rok Hwang.

The Prize committee who determined the finalists this year is made up of top industry leaders including supermodel Bella Hadid, art director Fabien Baron, Vogue China editor Angelica CheungColette founder Sarah Andelman, and US Harper's Bazaar editor-in-chief Glenda Bailey. Five of the contestants hail from London, while two of the finalists are from the US. Of the nine designers, three of them are comprised of duos, which marks a turn and creates a more inclusive environment for design teams across the industry.

The winner of the 2018 Prize will be announced on June 6 at the Louis Vuitton Foundation, after much deliberation by an esteemed board of LVMH executives and LVMH-owned fashion houses, including, but not limited to, Karl Lagerfeld, Haider Ackermann, and Delphine Arnault. To see more from the nine designers up for the prize, click through the slideshow below.
