Mercedes-Maybach Launches Virgil Abloh-Designed S Class and Off-White Capsule Collection
Mercedes-Maybach announce second collaboration with Virgil Abloh, created before his untimely death.

Mercedes-Maybach announced the final chapter of Project MAYBACH with the release of an extremely limited edition S-Class designed by the late designer Virgil Abloh, as well as a corresponding Off-White capsule collection. The vehicle was created by Abloh in partnership with Mercedes‑Benz Group AG Chief Design Officer Gorden Wagener, and finalized before Abloh’s death last November.

The bespoke car is a fully equipped Mercedes‑Maybach S‑ClassS680, and comes designed with the classic black and sand two-tone exterior created for Project MAYBACH. The color scheme continues with the interior, which features a four-seat configuration. The steering wheel, doors, lower dashboard and ceiling are all lined in black and sand leather. Additional luxury details include painted window frames, highpile floormats, a bespoke user interface, and a special Mercedes-Maybach and Virgil Abloh logo inscribed in various locations.

Only 150 units of the vehicle will be available for purchase, and customers will receive some extra goodies along with their car, including a co-branded car cover, a carabiner hook, and a custom-made branded wooden box complete with a 1/18 scale replica of the car.
“I’m incredibly proud of the work we have created in collaboration with Virgil,” said Wagener. “The limited edition Maybach by Virgil Abloh exemplifies the symbiosis between innovative design and ultimate craftsmanship now available on the road.”
The partnership marks Abloh’s third with Mercedes-Benz, and his second with Mercedes-Maybach. Abloh’s relationship with the brand began in 2020, when he created Project Geländewagen to reimagine the Mercedes‑Benz G‑Class.
In addition to the vehicle, Abloh created a capsule collection, fusing Project MAYBACH with his brand, Off-White. The collection includes t-shirts, fleece crewnecks and hoodies, canvas baseball caps, and racings gloves, all created with the Project MAYBACH sand color scheme.

“Teaming up with Virgil for Project MAYBACH was a unique and inspiring journey on Mercedes‑Benz´ idea of Zeitgeist, co-creationm and contemporary luxury,” said Bettina Fetzer, vice president of communications and marketing for Mercedes‑Benz AG. “The limited edition Maybach by Virgil Abloh and the capsule collection create a truly exceptional customer experience and we are honored to present them.”
The capsule collection is available now on Off‑White.com, Farfetch.com, and Maybach Icons of Luxury online stores, as well as some physical Off‑White stores.
