Meryll Rogge Joins Marni as New Creative Director

Following Francesco Risso’s June departure, the Belgian designer takes the reins—ushering in a fresh, female-led new chapter
Succeeding Francesco Risso’s decade-long tenure at the house, parent company Only The Brave (OTB) has appointed Meryll Rogge as Creative Director of Marni.
“It is a great pleasure to welcome Meryll to Marni,” brand CEO Stefano Rosso says. “She is an exceptional creative talent and an inspiring woman whose vision and expertise will play a key role in shaping the future of this amazing brand.”
Known for her bold, reconstructive, and colorful approach to design, the Belgian-born designer first began her studies of Fashion Design at the Royal Academy of Antwerp. Rogge made her professional debut in New York as a womenswear designer for Marc Jacobs before moving back to Belgium and assuming the role of Head of Women’s Design at Dries Van Noten.
While in the Dries Van Noten design chair and developing the house’s beauty line, Rogge began her own eponymous label, Meryll Rogge, which she launched in 2020. Rogge earned her flowers shortly after, in 2021, being named Emerging Talent of the Year at the Belgian Fashion Awards. She was later named Designer of the Year in 2024, becoming the first woman to receive this award. Most recently, Rogge was the recipient of the Grand Prix at the 2025 ANDAM Fashion Awards.
“I’m truly honored to join Marni — a house I’ve long admired for its independent spirit,” Rogge says. “To take on a role defined by such visionary creative directors is both humbling and inspiring. I’m deeply grateful to Renzo and Stefano for recognizing the resonance between our worlds and for entrusting me with this extraordinary opportunity. I look forward to helping shape what comes next for Marni.”
