As the brains behind the Instagram dance sequences at this year’s Met Gala, and the head that Rihanna shaved in N.E.R.D.’s “Lemon” video, dancer and choreographer Mette Towley has a knack for creating spectacle. But last night at launch of the new Revlon campaign Live Boldly and Lash Loudly, Towley took the idea of lasting impressions to the next level. In addition to Shake Shack hors d'oeuvres and bathtubs overflowing with tubes of mascara, the night’s program included Towley sitting for a live tattoo in the middle of the rotunda at Brooklyn’s The Weylin.

The event marked Towley’s first since joining the brand as a global ambassador in June, a title she shares with the likes of Ashley Graham and Gal Godot. In addition to guests like Ciara and Selah Marley, an all-female (and international) lineup of DJs, including Peggy Gou, Sita Abellan and Siobhan Bell, transformed the baroque events space into a thumping, pre-fashion week primer.

While Towley has maintained her close-cropped look since her run-in with Rih’s razor, her new ink, which was supplied by Justin Beiber’s tattooist JonBoy and reads “sugar plum,” marked her first foray into permanent body modification. See inside the highly pigmented affair below.
