"I got myself all gussied up to come here," Michelle Obama told Ellen DeGeneres in her first television interview since leaving her post as First Lady. By gussied up, she meant a simplistic loose, off-the-shoulder white top and tailored black pants from Tom Ford. Obama visited The Ellen DeGeneres Show to help celebrate the hostess' 60th birthday.
The two powerhouse women had much to catch up on. For starters, the Obamas are settling into life as a "normal" American family. They decided to remain in Washington D.C. "It is odd because now I have a door and a doorbell," the former FLOTUS explained. "People actually trip out when I come to my door, and I open it."
After a few minutes of small talk, Ellen got down to the good stuff: "When Donald Trump and his wife were moving into the White House, there was a gift exchange. There was a box given. What was in there?" Drumroll please! "It was a lovely frame," Obama revealed. And for Ellen's birthday gifts, Obama brought her a giant box of Francia wine, a Barack Obama Chia pet, and push-up equipment, in an elegant CVS shopping basket. Where else can you get a nicer gift?
