Midnight Art Dept Petitions Vampy Horror Film, The Lost Boys In Latest Collaboration
Visionary designer Shane Gonzales fuses cinematic punk with anti-aesthetic streetwear
Calling all cinema fiends and fashion fanatics.
From the heels of Midnight Studios Creative Director, Shane Gonzales is his latest collaboration seeking to fuse his Midnight Art Dept label with the vampiric 1987 film, The Lost Boys. A movie that peers into the lives of two young brothers living in a small beach town in California that is rumored to be inhabited by vampires. With a nod to the film’s graphic language, the label utilizes its “anti-aesthetic” foundation to combine its youth street styles with the punk-grunge themes of the film. Featured in the collection are the re-constructed moto tote bag, vamp trucker jacket, and the star wide-leg lounge pants, all of which exhibit the thematic overview of the film showcasing notions of loyalty, love, and adolescence.
Founded in 2014 by Shane Gonglazles – at age 19 – the Midnight Art Dept label has been responsible for some of the industry’s most talked about collaborations, such as Midnight Art Dept x Ozzy, Midnight Art Dept x Batman, Midnight Art Dept x Motorhead and others. Originally partnering with A$AP Rocky, the iconic young designer created a right of passage for brands, musicians, and media maestros to unite in collaborations.
The Midnight Art Dept. x The Lost Boys collection will be available starting December 16th on Midnight Studios with prices ranging from $65 to $250.
