Miley, Ariana and Lana Collab for “Charlie’s Angels” Reboot

Mark Nov. 15 in your calendars. The new “Charlie’s Angels” film, and with it, a song by Miley Cyrus, Ariana Grande and Lana Del Rey, hits theaters then.

What would “Charlie’s Angels” be without a badass, feminist-fueled track to go with it? This morning’s release of the movie trailer confirmed that Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus and Lana Del Rey did, in fact, collaborate on a song for the film. All three songstresses hinted at the collaboration across their social channels ahead of the release.

Creating a follow up to “Independent Women” by Destiny’s Child—the pop anthem for the original, year-2000 “Charlie’s Angels” film—is no easy task. The three music heroines, however, were up for the challenge. From what we can gather from the currently nameless song in the three-minute trailer, they succeeded.

The clip teases snippets of the song, including femme-empowered lyrics like, “don’t call me an angel,” “keep your pretty mouth shut” and “come on, mister nice guy, I’m coming for ya.” Queen Ari’s trademark “yuh” even gets some playtime here and there. In addition to the song, Grande also co-executive-produced the entire “Charlie’s Angels” soundtrack.

The reboot, due in theaters Nov. 15, is directed by Elizabeth Banks, also a co-screenwriter with numerous on-screen appearances. Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska star as Charlie’s main angels. With a kickass cast and the talented popstars behind it, “Charlie’s Angels” has the ultimate female dream team in its grasp.
