In a collaboration that transcends decades and brings together two of the most iconic female artists of our time, Miley Cyrus and Stevie Nicks released their “Edge of Midnight (Midnight Sky Remix)” today.

The track comes from Cyrus’ forthcoming rock album Plastic Hearts, which is set to be dropped on November 27th. Midnight Sky was the first single released by the musician in 2020, coming out in August.

“Midnight Sky” is a rock-disco ballad chronicling the freedom found and new road taken by the narrator without the shackles of her past relationships. Cyrus’ voice clearly lends itself to rock, a claim which hundreds of thousands agreed with on Twitter before she announced Plastic Hearts.

In the “Edge of Midnight (Midnight Sky Remix),” Fleetwood Mac’s Stevie Nicks provides a mashup to Miley’s original lyrics with the chorus of her chart-topping 1984 hit “Edge of Seventeen.” The pair has performed versions of “Edge of Midnight” live together before.
