Miley Cyrus Recruits Dua Lipa for Banging New Single “Prisoner”

The song comes as the second official single off Cyrus’ upcoming album

Miley Cyrus is determined to snatch 2020’s rockstar crown and she keeps the campaign going with her newest single, “Prisoner.” She takes things up a notch by recruiting Dua Lipa to feature on the song and creates an absolute banger.

“Prisoner” details the artists trying to get someone off their mind and their inability to just walk away, quite the contrast to Cyrus’ previous single, kiss-off anthem “Midnight Sky.” The song blends disco-punk and disco-rock vibes to create a musical production that wouldn’t be out of place on a Joan Jett or Whitesnake album. Cyrus’ hard edge and Lipa’s smooth vocals bounce well off each other.

That’s not all, though. The single release came with a music video, which is all the debauchery and feminine wiles that a collaboration like that would have you expect. Cyrus and Lipa, in a “Runaways” style reunion, drive around in a tour bus and sell out rock shows, while rolling around, singing to each other, and devouring some cherries.

“Prisoner” is the second official single off Cyrus’ upcoming album, Plastic Hearts, which will be out November 27. It’s also Lipa’s second single in the span of a month, following up her duet with Angèle, “Fever,” off her critically acclaimed Future Nostalgia.
