As the star of Fifth Element and the Resident Evil franchise, Milla Jovovich’s sci-fi career has spanned galaxies and multiple bodysuits. Now, the model-actress hyphenate is returning to her sci-fi roots, trading in the futuristic garb for Parisian ready-to-wear as the star of a new short film for Kenzo written and directed by Humberto Leon.

The 30-minute short, entitled The Everything, sees Jovovich as matriarch to a crew of well-dressed mutant teens navigating everyday high school stresses. In addition to a young and multitalented cast including X-Men star Alexandra Shipp and actress-cum-photographer Sasha Frolova, the film also stars Insecure’s Jay Ellis in his fashion-campaign debut.

While the film is the latest high-concept production from Leon, who has executed elaborate live dances and runway shows at Disneyland in his role as the founder and creative director at Opening Ceremony, The Everything marks Leon’s directorial debut. The film and accompanying campaign, which was shot by Ethan James Green, features the third installment in Kenzo’s La Collection Memento series, which pays homage to the Franco-Japanese brand’s archive.

The film will be released in its entirety on September 8, and the La Collection Memento Nº 3 collection is in stores now—no cosplay required.
