Miranda Kerr Stars in New Louis Vuitton Capucines Ad Campaign
Louis Vuitton upgraded their iconic Capucines bag, just in time for summer.
Louis Vuitton is back with a new rendition of their iconic Capucines bag just in time for summer, with model Miranda Kerr starring in the new ad campaign.
Since its original release in 2013, the LV Capucines bag has been universally loved for its architectural shape and ease for transitioning from day to night. The bag embodies Louis Vuitton’s savoir-faire style, and pays tribute to the brand’s very first boutique on the Rue Neuve-des-Capucines.
This summer’s interpretations of the bag are available in BB or Mini sizes, and they feature a Taurillon leather detachable strap braided with gold chain. Colorways include Orange Tonic lined with Rose Jasmin, or Apple Green and Lavender.
New additions to the collection have been painstakingly crafted. An embroidered cream leather mini Capucines bag features green embroidery designed to look like the classic LV Damier pattern, which requires 68,000 stitches. Meanwhile, a Capucines’ white leather bag is perforated and bejeweled with LV monogram flowers, designed to fit with the cotton silhouettes from Nicolas Ghesquière’s ready-to-wear collection. Additionally, each handle and the LV letters on the bags were made following the same glass blowing technique used by artisans in Murano.
The highlight of the new collection, however, is the upgraded Rue des Capucines model, which comes in a natural canvas. The MM version has black or brown Taurillon trims, while the BB version comes with Jaune Plume trims. Each MM bag is also embroidered with Monogram flowers and the words ‘4 rue des Capucines,’ a feature that alone requires more than 100,000 stitches.
Louis Vuitton tapped model Miranda Kerr to star in the ad campaign, which was shot in Los Angeles. The campaign sees Kerr moving from a daytime activity at a tennis court to a classic Californian night, all while perfectly styling her Capucines bag.
